O1 Chevy s10 4x4 exhaust is glowing red hot from cat to end of muffler? Loss of power and throwing sparks while driving.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing such problems. Interestingly, this is a common problem with many 4x4s.

The exhaust becomes glowing red hot due to the extreme heat produced by the car. It seems like the metal will actually melt, but it never does so, so don't worry about that.

While, there can be numerous reasons for this including, dirty or damaged exhaust valve, a dirt carburetor etc.

However, the problem can even be caused by faulty and unclean spark plugs. You mentioned that there is a loss of power and it is throwing sparks so the first thing you should do is change your spark plugs as soon as possible.

Secondly, inspect the exhaust to make sure there are no leaks.
