Engine code trouble p1101

Hi I am having a problem with an engine code .

I haveha 2013 cadillac atsa2.0t awd performance model with around 65k.

I keep getting p1101 with something else intermittently. Had something else earlier saying the mix is rich. The code is saying intake air performance flow or something like that. I have change the spark plugs and replaced the maf sensor.

I am seeing some very slight almost hazey vapor coming from tailpipes upon startup occasionally. I have been looking for symptoms related to ECU trouble, pcv cable or hose, and air intake outlet duct. Forums have suggested that they replaced throttle body and or sensor as well. Am I on the right track? I also believe I heard from AutoZone when checking the code that they said the mix was too rich past sensor or something like that.

I am kind of at a loss with this and don't wanna spend a ton of money at the dealer to have them find it. Would rather be able to change it myself if at all possible. I'm not sure if it's a vacuum leak since it's saying too rich. But again I'm not a mechanic lol. Lots of things are pointing to pcv valve and hose assembly.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey

Sorry to hear that happen to your car. If you want a detailed explanation of what is going on, you can check this youcanic article: <a href="https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p1101-obd-ii-trouble-code-mass-air…;

However, just to break it down,

1. P1101 does stand for "Mass Airflow Sensor Out of Self Test Range".

2. However, there can be many causes:

(a) Faulty Connectors or poor wiring within the MAF

(b) Faulty MAF sensor itself

(c) Probably an air leak somewhere before or after the MAF sensor

(d) It can be something as small as poor electrical connections within the sensor

So, now that the problem is narrowed down, you can take it from here.

  • I found my other paper with the other engine code I got earlier on. It's giving me p2097 also. Does that mean new catalytic converter ?

  • Hey man

    sorry for the late reply

The p2097 code means '' Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Rich Bank 1''

It is a very generic term but it usually means the PCM has detected a signal from the engine bank.

    So you can check there

  • Hey no worries .

Just got the car back from a Cadillac dealer and they said they fixed a purge valve or something for the fuel system. Got the car back and with in 30 seconds of driving it the cel came back on.

Ridiculous. I took it back to AutoZone and came up with a throttle body gasket problem . I'm not sure if that's something that will fix it but peicing it over and over is going to make me go broke. It's the same p1101 code over and over and I don't have a fix for it. Idk if I should just order the other parts and just fix all the pieces I can myself or what to do with it.

Thanks and again any input would be very much appreciated.
